This past Sunday, at TABC, the best sixth graders from around the league met to play in the very first YMSSA All-Star Game. Although All-Star Team #2 toppled All-Star Team #1, 59- 41, it was great seeing these talented boys play well together.
It all began with the tipoff between the YMSSA finalists, Isaac Horowitz and Billy Krause. Krause took the tip and got off to a really strong start, scoring 6 points in the first couple of minutes. With much thanks to Krause, All-Star Team #2 took the lead very early and never looked back.
During the first half, All-Star Team #2’s transition game was excellent. On several occasions, Zakheim and Feit stole the ball and threw Hail Mary passes down the court to Mann, who would finish with a layup. However, All-Star Team #1’s transition game was amazing too, as Lewis would do the same with his “teammate,” Horowitz, numerous times.
This was a great conclusion to the sixth grade basketball season.
