The leaves are falling, there is a chill in the air, there is no better time than now to head inside and catch a basketball game. The Yeshiva Middle School Sports Association 7th grade season officially begins next week and the competition is not to be missed.
The reigning champion SAR Sting will be spending plenty of time heading over the George Washington Bridge to defend their title, with four of their ten games in New Jersey. The Sting had an impressive season last year running the table with a perfect 11-0 championship team.
The Noam Knights are looking to avenge last year’s heartbreaking loss to SAR in the championship game, the only blemish on an otherwise perfect 10-1 season.
The boys from RPRY had a great 8-3 season losing a heard fought game at Noam in the semis.
Moriah and RYNJ finished the season with identical 5-3 marks, but look to be significant forces this season.
Bi-Cultural Day School did not field a 6th grade team last year; all the other teams are anxious to compete against the always-talented group from Stamford Connecticut.
Whichever team you root for, you are destined for another exciting year of Junior High basketball, go to the YMSSA site ymssa.com for the schedule of games and results.
