(Courtesy of YINR) Young Israel of New Rochelle recently hosted a Yad Leah clothing drive where 1,100+ bags of clothing were collected from 275+ households. The clothing will be going directly to Israel to clothe Israel’s needy including displaced families and soldiers on the front lines.
Organizers of the event, Talia Guenoun and Shira Wurzburger, reflected, “Like so many communities around the world, our Westchester community was feverishly looking for ways to come together to help Israel in a meaningful way. We wanted to find a way to get our quality clothing to the displaced families in need and we thought of Yad Leah as they have been doing this for 19 years. The process was seamless and the results of the drive were beyond what we could have ever imagined. Our teen and adult volunteers came together and it was truly inspiring to see the achdut of our community.
“We are so grateful to Yad Leah for helping us contribute and take part in this incredible mitzvah. From start to finish they provided us with the support and tools we needed to have a successful drive to benefit the families of soldiers and displaced families.”
