Young Israel Sisterhood ‘Ultimate Pre-Chag Boutique’ to Be Bigger, Better

Teaneck—The 200-member strong Sisterhood of the Young Israel of Teaneck is pulling out all the stops for this year’s boutique, based on the immense success of a boutique they organized last year at this time.

Now in its second year and hosted in the much larger and central location of Congregation Beth Shalom of Teaneck, “we have pulled out all the stops and added vendors to make year two bigger and better,” said Deena Adler, a YIOT Sisterhood vice president and a member of the event committee. The space will accommodate the much larger turnout they expect from the increased marketing and the individual draw of the unique vendors.

Adler explained that their “ultimate pre-chag boutique” appeals to a variety of age groups and needs. “We also made sure we covered all the major vendor categories from little kids’ specialty items to jewelry to tablecloths and modern housewares and even sukkah accessories,” she said. In addition, several cookbooks will be present for purchase as well as specialty t-shirt, hat and kippah makers. Gift-givers should know that specialty baby-gift vendors will be present as well as handmade makers of doilies, chocolates, Judaica, housewares and handbags.

A committee of eight from the sisterhood board, including chairwoman Jennifer Babich, are working on this event, which is the kick-off event for a year full of activities. “The boutique is a fundraiser for the sisterhood and one of the group’s favored charities, Emunah of America, will have a table at the boutique to let the community know about the amazing initiatives they have planned this year,” said Adler.

The boutique will be held September 2 from 7-10pm at Congregation Beth Shalom at 354 Maitland Avenue.
