As an experienced home buyer turned realtor, I have learned what buyers expect from their agents. I believe it is important to be comfortable with the agent you are working with and realize how valuable they can be in helping you find the best deal and home fit for you. Here are some pointers:
Don’t Push: Buyers, don’t attempt to force yourself on a home based on what it looks like. Agents are more knowledgeable in the sense of price and value and are a great resource in that regard. However, it is important for an agent to remember that buyers know best when it comes to what they truly need for their family. Agents need to realize that it is important to show clients everything in their price range in the area they are interested in. Everyone has different tastes.
Be Honest: Buyers who are really motivated help with the search process online, and it is important for agents to be honest with their clients regarding homes and their value. Regarding sellers, there are many different reasons to sell a home and a lot of mixed emotions that go along with it. Is the market strong and the seller wants to get a good lump of cash? Does the seller need a bigger home for his or her family? Do sellers need to downsize? Are they relocating? Working with the right agent, who will be truthful in dealing with both buyer and seller, can ensure a seamless transaction. Honesty is the best policy. As your agent I will be honest with you about the value of your home, the progress of the sale process, and give you clients’ feedback.
Price: Although you may have lived in your home forever, at this stage you are looking to sell. As your realtor, I will give you a fair market analysis on what your house can sell for in the current market.
Attention: I am here to schedule appointments, get clients through your door, and get your house sold. Ask any and all questions along the way.
Follow-up: Once we go under contract, I will help you with the step-by-step directions regarding what to expect next.
