YU Book Talk: An Hour With Storyteller Peninnah Schram

What makes a fabulous storyteller?

With her captivating voice and elegant style, Peninnah Schram has enchanted audiences the world over. Her Jewish folktales are skillfully rendered into contemporary settings with universal messages yet Torah values—love, empathy, charity, compassion.

Schram will discuss her biography “Peninnah’s World: A Jewish Life in Stories” by Caren Schnur Neile (Hamilton Books, 2021). Come hear her read selections of a “storied” life, from child of immigrants to award-winning author, educator and performer.

The online event, sponsored by Yeshiva University Libraries and set for Tuesday, March 1 at 8:15 p.m., will be moderated by Reuven Russell, YU artistic director of dramatic societies.
