A group of RYNJ third graders hosted a special guest to lead their weekly mishna group. Tyler Hod, a guard with the Yeshiva University Maccabees and semichah student at RIETS, was the guest “rebbe” for the boys. The group, which started learning mishnayos together on Shabbos afternoons, have moved their seder to Zoom on Sunday evenings, due to social distancing protocols.

Eric Ashkenazi, who organizes the weekly chaburah, wanted to bring the boys a special “guest star” who can learn Torah at a high level while also playing sports at a high level. As one parent commented, “This was a real slam dunk!”
