(yumacs.com) Battling through the elements on a rainy night, the #3 seeded Yeshiva men’s soccer team took down #6 seed St. Joseph’s University Long Island in the Skyline Conference Quarterfinals, defeating the Golden Eagles by score of 2-0 on Sunday, Oct. 29.
Offensively, the Maccabees were captained by the twin headed attack of Hadar Lavinsky and Andrea Lacche, with both forwards finding the back of the net early on for Yeshiva.
On the defensive end of the ball, keeper Kellian Marty had a superb night for the Macs, securing his fourth shutout of the season and showing out with some stupendous saves to keep SJLI from the back of the net.
With the win, the Macs move on to the Skyline semi-finals, matching up against one of the few teams that have caused them trouble this season in Farmingdale State College.
