Mom’s Angels over the Zevy’s Pizza Giants.

(YYL) Mom’s Angels took the YYL Senior Boys championship, defeating the Zevy’s Pizza Giants 27-7. The Angels are sponsored in memory of coach Jeff Cohen’s mother, Janis Cohen, Shaindel Rachel bas Ephraim z”l.

Shuey Glass set the tone from the mound with six stellar innings. Big hits came courtesy of Abie Chouake, Zachary Goldwasser, Aaron Ratzker and Noam Rosenthal. Displaying a great eye at the plate, Gavriel Burns, Yosef Choake, Jacob Cohen and Yehuda Hellman worked timely walks to set up big scoring innings. In the field, Noam Landman, Shai Rosenthal and Eitan Zimmerman made some key plays to thwart scoring opportunities.

Ely Gottleib pitched well for the Giants, throwing strikes to limit walks. Offensively Tani Schnall set the tone with big hits and bold base running. Reliable play by Elijah Tabak and by Senior Boy rookie Gavriel Yablok kept the Giants in the game early, but ultimately it was to be Mom’s Angels’ day,

Great middos were on display all game long by both teams. And of course, ice cream was enjoyed by all to celebrate another great season.
