The students at Ben Porat Yosef had a great start to their Chanukah week! On Monday, the middle school students surprised the elementary school with a Chanukah flash mob dance to break out Color War! The next day, the halls were filled with cheers for the blue (levivot, potato pancakes) and green (sufganiyot, doughnuts) teams. The students participated in relay races, tug of war, decorated the hallways, and learned team dances. Middle school created beautiful canvases depicting pesukim related to Chanukah. Each team explained how their painting related to the story of Chanukah and the strengths of the Maccabim. Just like the Jews at the time of the Chanukah story, the blue and green team used their own strengths to ensure success. There were beautiful divrei Torah, Chanukah plays and songs. In the end, the green team was triumphant. However, everyone walked away with smiles and beautiful memories and that is the real victory!
