2019 ‘A Kindness a Day Calendar’ Hits Shelves: A Roadmap to Making the World a Better Place

Areyvut, a New Jersey-based non-profit that spearheads educational social action programs for youth, is set to release its 2019 “A Kindness a Day Calendar.” The perfect complement to Areyvut’s innovative program lineup that enables young people to become actively involved in perpetuating acts of kindness and charity, the “A Kindness a Day Calendar” is ideal for educators, adults and children.

The “A Kindness a Day Calendar,” which has become a national phenomenon since its initial publication in 2005, presents monthly themes and daily messages, each highlighting an act of kindness—relevant to any age—and is accompanied by a relevant Jewish text as a spiritual source for that good deed.

“The 2019 “A Kindness a Day Calendar” is a moral guide and a roadmap to help make the world a better place,” said Daniel Rothner, founder and director of Areyvut. “It is a means through which people of all ages and from all walks of life can infuse their lives, and the lives of others, with true meaning and a sense of purpose by positively impacting those around them.”

The uniqueness of the calendar enables parents to engage with their children about the importance of performing acts of kindness, allows educators to enrich their curriculum by implementing the calendar’s suggestions and is used by children and teens as a source for projects that center on the Jewish values of charity and kindness.

“The calendar is filled with practical ideas for living Jewish values, tied to Jewish texts, every day,” said Yossi Prager, executive director for North America of The AVI CHAI Foundation.

Copies can be purchased online at Areyvut’s website (www.areyvut.org/store).
