The WTA students were very busy this Election Day learning about the voting process and participating in their own class votes on various topics. In early childhood, they voted on their favorite book to read in school at circle time. In pre-k “The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig” was the winner! First graders voted on their favorite cookies: Oreos or Chips Ahoy. They worked on campaign posters which they posted around WTA to promote their endorsements. In third grade, the general studies and Judaic studies teams worked together to focus on tzedaka for this Election Day. They started by discussing the importance of voting and learning about chesed and tzedaka. They counted and sorted all of the tzedaka money that they collected each day. The student learned about various organizations that help the community and then voted on which one to donate the money to this month. The winner was Leket Israel!
