This week, the fifth grade was introduced to a special program called Eretz Chemda, which is being used for the first time in RPRY. Eretz Chemda is a program taught from Yerushalayim via Zoom every other week. It will help connect students to Eretz Yisrael and its mitzvot. Eretz Chemda is staffed by master educators who are familiar with both the material and the land. Students will see the land and feel its kedusha in their lessons. They will learn about mitzvot connected to Eretz Yisrael such as terumah, maaser, challah, kilayim and many more. They will also have the opportunity to “visit” the holiest places in Eretz Yisrael, including the Kotel and Me’arat Hamachpeila. Everyone is looking forward to learning about Yerushalim every other week until June.
