In its second year of the TAPCo/SAR collaboration, SAR High School’s new and returning students joined together to talk about their cultures and identities. This venture, prompted by Ritchie Torres’ office, encourages SAR students to engage with their Bronx neighbors who are outside of the Jewish community. With a focus on the visual and performing arts, students meet up at local museums and work on a final project. It was a great way to make new friends and learn about other students’ backgrounds and cultures.
“The TAPCo-SAR arts program has been an incredible opportunity for me and my peers to get to know and collaborate with students we may not have otherwise known,” said Junior Eli B. “So far, we’ve learned a little about each other’s cultures and backgrounds. We bonded over similarities and celebrated our differences. I’m so proud of our partnership and can’t wait to continue building bridges with the amazing and kind students of TAPCo.”
