(JPost) The IDF’s 300th Brigade identified and dismantled five Hezbollah weapons storage facilities in southern Lebanon, the military confirmed on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

The Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group began firing at Israel on Oct. 8, 2023, following the October 7 attacks when Hamas invaded Israel and murdered some 1200 people.

While the troops were searching for terrorists in densely forested, mountainous terrain, they discovered the weapons storage facilities.

The troops reportedly discovered over 200 mortar shells, loaded rocket launchers and military vests inside the storage facilities.

The soldiers also found a truck covered in Hezbollah stickers containing three medium-range rocket launchers, the IDF noted.

The IDF emphasized its commitment to maintaining defensive operations, including addressing active threats and dismantling terrorist infrastructure, actions permissible under the existing ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah.
