In a vibrant display of talent, creativity and cultural pride, Jewish women gathered for an extraordinary event that highlighted their diverse skills and unique stories. The talent showcase, held at Brush Culture, on Cedar Lane in Teaneck on Sunday, January 12, was a platform designed to celebrate the artistic and intellectual prowess of Jewish women, fostering an inclusive space where they could shine and share their voices with the world.
“Ladies Got Talent” was created to honor and uplift the immense contributions of Jewish women across various fields. While fundraising for The Bayit Association, Rebetzin Bassie Taubes was present to share a few words with the audience.
From music to comedy, the evening offered an eclectic mix of performances by Shira Nagar, Arielle Pfefer and Hodaya Acoca in the singing part of the event, and Dina Kastner, Banji Ganchrow and Devorah Schranz in stand-up comedy.
Organized by Delia Nagar, a former singer and longtime performer, the event served as a powerful networking opportunity for Jewish women to connect with one another. The energy in the room was palpable, as more than 60 attendees cheered one another and highlighted the importance of fostering events like this. Nagar’s dream is to have a workshop location where women can practice their talents, equipped with a stage and regularly perform.
The showcase was a resounding success, with many attendees and performers expressing their hopes for future events. The desire for more opportunities to create, perform and collaborate was a central theme throughout the evening. Nagar has already started planning the next event and would like to add dancers to the performance, so if you are 14 or older, and a talented dancer, singer, musician or comedian, and would like to join this growing group of performers, please reach out and send a video to 917-334-1903.
As the evening drew to a close, one sentiment echoed throughout the room: Jewish women are more than capable of shaping the cultural landscape, and their voices deserve to be heard.
