With the assistance of Zichron Dovid, Bikur Cholim of West Orange and Livingston, a Sukkah has once again been constructed in the employee park at Saint Barnabas Medical Center for patient family members as well as staff who are celebrating the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. Pictured outside the Sukkah are, from left, Stephen P. Zieniewicz, FACHE, president and CEO; Rabbi Cathy Felix, pastoral care; Rabbi Stanley Asekoff, pastoral care; Leslie Wright-Brown, MS, RN-BC, director, diversity, nursing research and innovation; and Michelle O’Leary, Mindy Metsch, Madelyn Yu, MSN, RN, and Sally Malech, members of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
In addition, Saint Barnabas Medical Center offers the following amenities during Shabbat and Yom Tov to their patient family members, thanks to a generous donation from Murray and Linda Laulicht: A Bikur Cholim kosher kitchen on the second floor of the main hospital, stocked by Zichron Dovid; designated Shabbat elevators in both hospital buildings that automatically stop on every floor; and sleeping accommodations for family members over Shabbat or Yom Tov.
