Bar Mitzvah Boy Organizes Back-to-School Chesed

Our community is blessed with many young people who have obviously learned about doing mitzvot from the many that they see their parents involved in. We all know the old adage that the apple does not fall far from the tree.

Such is the case of Tani Shields, about to enter grade seven at Yeshivat Noam and soon to be celebrating his bar mitzvah on Parshat Noach. He is collecting school supplies, backpacks (new or slightly used) and various incidentals that students need for the upcoming school year to be distributed to people in the local area (Teaneck, New Milford and Bergenfield) through local organizations.

Anyone who is interested in availing themselves of the program can reach out to [email protected] (Tani’s private agent). There is also a box directly in front of his home at 800 Downing for those who may have new supplies or would like to purchase supplies which they would like to donate to this special chesed. Connections to stores/companies that would be able to donate notebooks, binders, pencils, pens, erasers, staples, scotch tape and more would be most welcome.

Tani, you are on your way to the path of being known as a baal chesed! Mazel tov.
