Estee Ackerman, 19 year old table tennis champion visited the Shaarei Bina Torah Academy for Girls, in Hollywood, FL, on Friday, December 4. She spoke about her journey from growing up playing ping pong in her basement to being recognized as a national table tennis champion. Her message about always placing Judaism first was extremely inspiring. After sharing her story, many of the students along with Dr. Brand and Rabbi Sheinkopf got to play her an informal match. Ackerman attended the Michlalah Seminary in Israel last year along with playing for the Hapoel Yerushalayim Women’s Table Tennis Team, leading them to first place in there division. When the pandemic came in March, she had to return to New York and was unable to compete in the playoffs. Her team eventually lost in the finals. She is currently USA #24 and is attending Stern College as a sophomore.
