RYNJ eighth graders enjoyed an evening together, warmed not only by the fire and food, but inspiring words to “Get Fired Up!”—the evening’s theme of personal growth. Rabbi David Goldfischer, RYNJ eighth grade parent, compelled everyone to start Nissan with a sense of newness, which was followed by a spontaneous call to tackle a new area of learning—a dozen boys pledged Mishnayos, Gemara and Mussar sefarim. Rabbi Dr. Ari Sytner, RYNJ eighth grade parent, used a message from the Korban Pesach to encourage the boys to recognize their own greatness as seniors taking their next step forward in life. Rabbi Steven Burg, RYNJ eighth grade parent, shared a fascinating story from the Yom Kippur War—“Hashem will give the opportunities in life, but you have to take them!” Along with some heartfelt singing, the evening left the boys asking, “So, when is the next RYNJ melave malka?”
