Yeshiva University’s Department of Athletics has announced the hiring of Erica Lemm as Assistant Director of Athletics. Lemm, whose appointment commenced on August 11, will be responsible for the compliance and day-to-day operations of YU’s seven women’s varsity sports and will oversee the recreation and intramural opportunities for the university’s female student base.
“I am both excited and honored to join the Yeshiva athletics family,” said Lemm. “This is a tremendous opportunity to be a part of a well-known institution and I look forward to being a part of the continued success of Yeshiva Athletics.”
Prior to her appointment with Yeshiva, Lemm served as sports coordinator for Washtenaw Community College, a two-year institution in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she was responsible for the overall operation of the athletics department. She spearheaded efforts that increased the number of participants at the college from 165 to nearly 700 in just three years.
A graduate of Central Michigan University, where she earned a Master of Arts in Sport Administration, Lemm’s previous experience also includes a Group Events/Sales Internship with the Detroit Pistons in 2010, a student ambassador with NASCAR Kinetics, as well as a sports intern and game day volunteer with the Special Olympics Michigan in 2009.
“Erica is a wonderful administrator with a proven track record in collegiate athletics of increasing athletic opportunities for both intramural participants and varsity student-athletes,” said Yeshiva University Director of Athletics, Joe Bednarsh. “I have no doubt she will bring energy, excellence, and a spirit of friendly professionalism and will help improve what is already a growing program.”
