A Season for Friendship

By Shayna B.

Dear Shayna B.,

I’m really disappointed because my BFF told me she made other and better friends during the summer and she doesn’t want me as her BFF anymore. What should l do?

Sincerely,

Disappointed Daniella

Dear Disappointed Daniella,

Your ex-friend doesn’t sound so nice. There’s an old song called “I Don’t Want Nobody That Don’t Want Me.” Would you really want a best friend who doesn’t want to be your best friend? Sometimes it’s hard to hear, but people change and so do relationships. Although your friend could have been nicer about how she broke the news to you, it’s time for you to move on. Make some new friends. Introduce yourself. Sit with new people at lunch. Talk to them. It can be a little hard at first, but soon your new friends will become your old friends. Although if it doesn’t happen like this you can always force them into it. Everyone knows that harassing people is the best way to make friends.

Best of luck,

Shayna B.
