Two Adars this year made the anticipation of Purim even greater, and Congregation Adath Israel of Elizabeth/Hillside hosted an awesome Purim Chagigah at YM-YWHA of Union County! The evening started with a lively Megillah reading and then everyone made their way to the gym, which was set up beautifully for a delicious break fast meal. The tables were decorated corresponding to the fall, winter, spring, and summer seasons, each table more creative than the next. The chagigah catered to all ages and included DJ Hillel Kapnick and singer Benny Amar, who led the children with fun dances and giveaways. There were arts and crafts, blow-up rides, ping pong, basketball arcade and a family favorite—a photo booth with props. It was a wonderful atmosphere celebrating Purim as a community with great costumes and of course lots of delicious hamantashen. Thank you to the Adath Israel youth department and Purim committee for all their hard work and to all the sponsors for making this an unforgettable Purim evening.
