Pink T-shirts and other pink clothing was seen everywhere and on almost everyone at Academies at GBDS on Wednesday, as it joined many other schools nationwide to participate in the Sharsheret Pink Day. This year’s fundraiser was a pink T-shirt decorating contest to see who could be the most creative in their design. This fundraiser was headed by Ellen Bloomberg, math coordinator. Thank you to eighth grade judges, Offer, Jessica, Maya and Keren who had a challenging job. There were so many creative shirts that the girls had to name eight students as winners. The winners were Mila, Moshe, Noa, Akira, Jagger, Lexie, Goldie and Daniella. A very big thank you goes to all the GBDS families and staff who donated in support of a very worthy cause. Together, the school raised over $1000 (final count TBA) to donate to Sharsheret. Academies at GBDS is “tickled pink” at a most successful fundraiser!
