The sixth and second grade collaborated to plant sunflowers as a part of their environmental curriculum. Sixth grade finished units on biomes and succession; while the second grade did plants and seed dispersal. They will now be able take home their plantings and watch the germination of their seeds at home. The timing was perfect for both classes to create special Mother’s Day gifts. The sixth grade students will plant germinated seeds in the early childhood outdoor classroom as well.
