Ahavath Torah Plans Three Weeks Zoom Program

The Dor L’Dor group at Congregation Ahavath Torah in Englewood will present a Three Weeks/Tisha B’Av Zoom program on Tuesday, July 26 at 1p.m..

Rabbi Daniel Goldberg, associate rabbi at Ahavath Torah and popular lecturer, will deliver an inspiring talk on “The Three Weeks and Tisha B’Av.”

Following the lecture the film, “Children Saved From the Nazis: The Story of Sir Nicolas Winton” (running time 59 minutes), will be shown.

Nicholas Winton, a young British stockbroker, single-handedly saved the lives of 669 children from Czechoslovakia during World War II. For nearly 50 years he told no one of his heroic deeds. His efforts came to life 50 years later when his wife found a suitcase in the attic with a remarkable scrapbook full of documents and transport plans. In 1988, a BBC program featured an emotional first-time reunion with over two dozen of the “children” he saved. His final film interview before his death in 2015, at the age of 106, was a dramatic reconstruction of the events and testimonies of the rescued children and can be seen on YouTube.

The program is free and open to the community. For more information and to attend the program, visit www.ahavathtorah.org/dorldor on July 26 or call
