Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

I was very disturbed to see an advertisement offering alcohol pops published in The Jewish Link. Although it passed all your kashrut requirements, I question whether you thought of the newspaper’s responsibility in advertising a product that flies in the face of all your articles on teenage/adult substance abuse. A product that disguises alcohol in a traditionally children’s product is a clear danger. Since this product can’t be secured as a bottle of alcohol, it must be stored in a freezer. How easily would it be for teens and young children to access this product and share it with their friends unaware that it’s for adults only. Nor is it mentioned in the ad! I recognize that a newspaper needs advertising to exist but it also has an ethical responsibility to publicize products that do not present a danger to our families.
