B’nai Shalom in West Orange to Host ‘Yonina Live in Concert’

B’nai Shalom is thrilled to welcome “Yonina Live in Concert” on Sunday, September 15, at 6:30 p.m. Yonina,Yoni and Nina Tokayer, a husband and wife Israeli musical duo, is a true product of Israeli culture in the internet age. Their meteoric rise to international fame started from posting weekly self-recorded videos of their songs on Facebook and YouTube. These posts attracted millions of viewers around the globe and led to the release of their debut album, “Emet P’shuta” (Simple Truth), in 2017. Since then, they have been performing throughout the world to audiences large and small.

Known for their positive music and soft, sweet harmonies, Yonina’s music is a blend of Jewish, Israeli and international musical themes. This concert will be a rare opportunity for the local community to enjoy the beautiful, uplifting and soulful music that Yoni and Nina make together.

This concert will also launch the Culture and Learning Center at B’nai Shalom, which aims to draw the community into ongoing conversation about arts and ideas, Israel, Torah in our time, our lives and today’s world.

“The center’s vision,” said Rabbi Robert L. Tobin, spiritual leader of B’nai Shalom, “expands on our adult education model to incorporate experiences that help us build community as we explore Jewish culture and confront the challenges of our time.”

In addition to an interactive study of Jewish history and ideas, the center will present concerts, films, lecture-dialogues on contemporary topics, exhibits and trips to areas of Jewish interest.

Yonina concert tickets can be purchased at bnaishalom.tix.com or 800-595-4TIX (4849).

The concert is sponsored by The Beth Ahm Program Fund, Hadassah of Northern New Jersey and the Kastner Family.

B’nai Shalom is located at 300 Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange.
