Back by Popular Demand: JFCS Night of 100 Dinners

(Courtesy of JFCS) As a counter to the frenetic pace of the modern world, the need to slow down, unplug and enjoy the company of our neighbors and community members looms large. In response to this, Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey, a nonprofit organization providing a full range of integrated social services, is bringing back Night of 100 Dinners. At this creative fundraising event, members of the community host dinners at their homes and invite others to join. Many JFCS stalwart supporters and lay leaders talk about time spent with friends, connections they made and the inspiration to do good derived from previous Nights of 100 Dinners.

In the past, this event has been a touchpoint for developing lay leaders, who initially attend a dinner, offer to host one in a following year, and/or become JFCS volunteers and committee members. Some attendees even have moved on to assume board member positions. For everyone, the evening is an unpressured, personal way to learn about JFCS, meet new and old friends, and support a great cause.

The dinners also benefit those in need of JFCS services. Thanks to the generosity of each host, who underwrites their own dinner, 100% of the money raised goes directly to JFCS programming, empowering the agency to further help its clients.
