(Courtesy of Bears From Bergenfield) During the latest relief mission to Puerto Rico, led by NCSY’s Rabbi Ethan Katz, New York students were able to help repair a school closed due to Hurricane Maria, but were not able to distribute the toys donated by Bears From Bergenfield due to COVID restrictions.

Since the students in Puerto Rico will be returning shortly, the school administrators decided to distribute the toys to them at that point. The New York students were overjoyed to be part of the shiluach mitzvah of bear deliveries even though they weren’t able to meet with the students themselves.
