The Eishet Chayil Award at the Bet El Institutions annual gala will go to Sylvia Freyer of Englewood, NJ. Lt.-Col. (ret.) Ralph Peters will be the guest speaker and others will be honored on December 8th, 2013 at the Marriott Marquis in NYC. Peters, renowned author and commentator, is an outspoken supporter of Israel via his many articles and media appearances. The Annual Bet El Dinner is the largest dinner of any Israeli organization in the tri-state area.
Other awards will recognize Jewish activists for their outstanding leadership:
Shomer Yisrael Award: David and Barbara Bortniker of West Orange, NJ.
Shomer Bet El Award: Joshua and Rachel Goldsmith of Kew Garden Hills, NY.
Young Leadership Award: Elchanan and Aliza Romanoff of Woodmere, NY.
The event is organized under the leadership of Mr. Eugen Gluck, who serves as Chairman of the Board of American Friends of Bet El. Attorney David M. Friedman serves as president. Bet El’s flagship institution is the Israel Defense Forces Preparatory Academy which caters to Sephardic and Ethiopian high school graduates, many of whom come from socially and economically deprived backgrounds which offer little motivation for personal development or service to society. The academy deepens their ties with their Jewish roots and prepares them physically and emotionally for army service and adult life. For more info, email: Baruch_IsraelNationalNews.com
