Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

Dear Shayna,

Recently, I’ve noticed a change in my best friend. She has started making excuses whenever I ask her to hang out. She doesn’t seem unhappy as if something is bothering her, she just seems unhappy with me. What do you think is going on?

Signed,

Worried Wendy

Dear Worried Wendy,

I know it’s hard when friendships change. These things happen in life. But you know what they say “cry yourself a river, build yourself a bridge and get over it.” If your friend doesn’t want to hang out anymore then she doesn’t have to. So don’t just stand there and pity yourself, go make some new friends.

I think it would be beneficial to keep a diary and write down your feelings during this difficult social transition. But just remember, you can pick your nose, you can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your friend’s  nose.

Best of luck,

Shayna B.
