Biden Democrats Casting Off Israel Into a Stormy Sea With No Promise of Rescue

In back-to-back votes, the United States has helped to pass very hostile, anti-Israel UN resolutions, thus openly throwing Israel, its longtime ally and only democracy in the Middle East, under the bus for a handful of hoped-for far-left party votes.

In the UN, on Friday, March 22, a U.S.-sponsored resolution for an immediate ceasefire was vetoed by its enemies, Russia and China, only because it was not strongly anti-Israel enough. We know we’re auf tzores when our sworn enemies have to bail us out.

Then on Monday, March 25, another UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire passed unanimously, with the U.S. abstaining and refusing to veto it. In these votes, even though the U.S. waffled, they did signal unmistakably their willingness of making further concessions to the Israel-haters in the future. This is reminiscent of Obama abstaining, instead of the customary vetoing, of an anti-Israel UN resolution on December 23, 2016 in one of his last days in office.

Both the earlier Obama and present Biden actions are cynical political ploys to pander to the party’s far-left, anti-Israel block, in acts of desperation to gain a few of their votes. It did not work for the Democrats in 2016 and hopefully will not work in 2024. However, it does signal to Israel’s enemies that the United States is not solidly in Israel’s corner and can be manipulated for political gain.

Perfidy, thy name is Biden!
