All of us at Black Box Studios were very excited last weekend to read Channa Fischer’s full-page coverage of the comedian Elon Gold & Friends recent sell-out Tuesday night at Debonair Music Hall on Queen Anne Road in Teaneck (“Elon Gold & Friends Bring Laughter to Teaneck When We Need It the Most” December 14, 2023). We are beyond grateful for The Link’s continued coverage of cultural arts throughout our Jewish communities, most especially when finding moments of unity and joy is paramount.

Omitted from the article was Black Box Studios’ integral part in the event, which was produced by our company in collaboration with Dovi Neuburger, the young comedic talent and expert promoter. Black Box’s first space for performing arts education and professional theater was located across the street when Debonair’s current owners, David and Alberta Gaskill, took over and we quickly established a close association during that time and, most especially, throughout the post-pandemic years when severe challenges for arts and cultural venues in the tri-state area became well known, and continue to this very day. It is due to this exclusive relationship that Black Box Studios (and Black Box PAC) are now back in Teaneck, in residence at Debonair, and it is through this unique arrangement between a professional live music venue and our live performing arts/theater entities that the Elon Gold show was able to happen.
