Teaneck—Black Box Studios proudly presents a new production of the London and Broadway hit musical Blood Brothers, with book, music and lyrics by Willy Russell. It is directed by Black Box Performing Arts Center’s artistic director Matt Okin with musical direction by resident musical director Huey Esquire. Featuring a tight-knit, pared-down cast of top-tier talent from both NYC and NJ (Jason Felix, Sara Giacomini, Thomas Knapp, Margaret Leone, Chaz Ocasio, Lindsay Ortmeyer and Lisa Tiger) and backed by a sharp orchestral trio, Blood Brothers will play from November 3 through 19 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. with one special matinee on Sunday, November 13 at 3 p.m. All performances will be at Black Box Studios’ new home, Teaneck’s Black Box Performing Arts Center.
In Blood Brothers, based loosely on the 1844 novella The Corsican Brothers by Alexandre Dumas, a pair of twins is separated at birth. One grows up rich, the other in poverty. Despite their parents’ best efforts, the boys befriend each other—never knowing their history. But secrets can’t stay hidden forever.
