BPY Celebrates Mesibat Toshba

These past two weeks, Baruch Hashem, BPY’s third graders celebrated their Mesibat Toshba. The party was wonderful! The students performed, sang and danced so beautifully. This year, due to the situation in Israel, students opened the party with the song, “Avinu ShebaShamayim Tzur Yisrael vego’alo” for the success of the State of Israel and the blessing of “Mi SheBeirach” for the success of the Israeli soldiers. At the end of the party they sang the song “Am Yisrael Chai.”

May we be privileged to hear, with Hashem’s help, only good news from the Land of Israel. At the mesibah, the students presented the story of Yaakov who ran away from his brother Esav, about the quarrel of the stones on which the righteous Yaakov would lay his head, as well as Yaakov’s dream with the ladder and the angels. At the mesibah, a number of Rashi’s interpretations of Yaakov’s dream were presented, and the students also sang a song about Rashi’s interpretation.

In addition, students presented the first two Mishnayot they learned in class: “Moshe received the Torah from Sinai” and “Rabbi Shimon HaTzaddik used to say the world stands on three things” through singing and dancing. After, students and parents played a Kahoot game that summarized all the topics presented in the play. Each student received a bag full of sweets to sweeten the learning of the Torah, as well as a memory game of Rashi letters that the students prepared in class. Also, students received stones with their names in Rashi script as well as a note with the meaning of their name. Thank you, dear parents, for coming and making the students happy with the learning of the Mishnayot, the writings of Rashi and the Chumash.
