Ben Porat Yosef held its seventh annual Scholarship Walkathon on Sunday, June 14, at the Wynton White Stadium in Englewood. This year’s event celebrated the heroes of the IDF who defend the Jewish people and offer assistance to those in need around the world; the soldiers have become true role models, strengthening our global society as well as our Jewish community. The walkathon was a “BPY Community” celebration of the year as well, and raised over $130,000 for scholarships, through sponsorships from almost 1,600 sponsors. Participants enjoyed father races, mother races, student races for boys and student races for girls. Face painting, other activities and delicious refreshments were available throughout the day, coupled with plenty of fun for everyone. And, of course, the main activity of the day—walking.
