BPY Middle School Has Melava Malka

The BPY middle school students met in school on Motzei Shabbat in late December for a melave malka. Students enjoyed snacks and drinks, and catching up after a Shabbat apart from each other. They then sat together in a circle, to play some group bonding games, planned by Morah Adi and Morah Racheli. After the students heard some words of Torah from Rabbi Zucker, they began the singing portion of the program. The kumzitz was led by Morah Shoshana’s husband on guitar, and the students filled the gym with their powerful voices. Rav Aviv and Rav Ido each shared some personal stories, providing additional meaning to the specific songs. After the singing and stories, students went outside to roast marshmallows and make smores at the bonfire. And if the fire wasn’t warm enough, everyone was definitely warmed by the singing and ruach dancing that ensued. What a beautiful way to escort out Shabbat!
