The students in the second grade compared opinion writing to a sandwich. A sandwich made of just bread would be boring, but once they add delicious ingredients like cheese, tomatoes and avocado, it makes the sandwich more interesting. Opinion writing is the same way! Writers need to state their opinion at the beginning and end and fill the middle with interesting reasons and examples. What a yummy lesson!
