BPY always brings the Adar spirit and this year was no exception!! The theme for the month of Adar is מהודו ועד כוש—from India to Ethiopia. In the Megilla, Achashverosh ruled over 127 provinces. At BPY students welcomed Adar by exploring countries around the world. The walls of the elementary school were completely covered in colorful paper and each grade chose a country to depict. (First grade explored states because that was more concrete for them). As you walk through the halls you get a flavor for the many cultures around the world. You can walk through a bazaar in Morocco, smell the tulips in Holland and visit a baguette bakery in France. Students helped create the many decorations that enhance the Adar atmosphere. During the pandemic, it is easy to see how interconnected our world truly is. Although we are often focused on life in America and Israel, it is crucial to also be aware of the beautiful cultures, customs and unique qualities of the countries of the world! The children were astonished and amazed at the transformation as they entered school! Thank you to the most creative and passionate teachers.
