(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) Mikhail and Yulia Kipnis from the former Soviet Union and longtime friends and supporters of Bris Avrohom, invited the Kanelskys to officiate the bar mitzvah of their son Benjamin. The Kipnis family held celebrations in three locations: The first celebration was held at the Kotel, where the bar mitzvah boy donned tefillin and was called up to the Torah. The second celebration took place in Chevron, where they prayed at Mearat Hamachpela, followed by a luncheon with IDF soldiers. The third and final celebration was in conjunction with Shabbat Services at the Jerusalem Great Synagogue where Benjamin was called up to the Torah and read his portion. Benjamin was prepped for his bar mitzvah by Rabbi Boruch Lepkivker, program director of Bris Avrohom.
