(Courtesy of Bris Avrohom) The Bas Mitzvah Club at Bris Avrohom is run by Chaya Kanelsky. The girls meet once a month and they learn about the inner beauty of a woman, their future as a role model of her family, and how to prepare for the special age when they are obligated to fulfill all the mitzvot. They are taught to understand that the biggest part of a bat mitzvah is a girl’s connection to Hashem and her new responsibilities as an adult in Hashem’s eyes. In addition to the educational aspect, the girls enjoy arts and crafts while some incentive program is included as well. They then enjoy dinner together.
