Brooklyn’s Closes, Donates Contents of Store to Yad Leah

Susan Abrams, the owner of Brooklyn’s LLC, a store on West Englewood Avenue that specialized in high-end tzniut fashion for women and girls, has decided to move on to other endeavors. She built her business in her home for two years prior to the opening of the well-appointed storefront, which many local community members enjoyed and relied on for skirts, shells and dresses, not to mention friendly fashion advice.

Abrams generously donated the remaining contents of the store to the Passaic- and Brooklyn-based charity, which sends gently worn clothing to 30 different communities in Israel. This wasn’t Abrams’ first donation to Yad Leah; whenever her store was overflowing with merchandise, her immediate instinct was to benefit Yad Leah’s recipients. She told The Jewish Link she has always been proud of the plaque hanging on a wall in her store citing her generosity and devotion to the Yad Leah organization. As Susan so eloquently said, “Knowing Yad Leah meets the needs of those less fortunate with their clothing shopping options, we hope that these overstock items of skirts, tees, sweaters, dresses may fill their closet with happiness and comfort when choosing their clothing.”

Yad Leah and Susan Abrams were also greatly indebted to the students of Ma’ayanot, who worked diligently to assist in packing up the goods in the store. It was a difficult task, and all was done with smiles and grace.
