Bruriah High School’s Chesed in Israel Draws International Visitor

(l-r) Bethany Strulowitz (head of school, Bruriah), Erica Sauerhoff, Eva Gidalowitz (class of ’21), Shulie Glazer, Joel Glazer and Erez Masud.

On June 13 Erez Masud, development director of the Kever Rachel community in Israel, visited Bruriah and met with community leaders. He came because he’d heard about the success of the then-11th grade students in Joel Glazer’s 2019/2020 social studies class in raising funds, which enabled the community of Beit Lechem, located within the walls of Kever Rachel, to renovate a children’s playground. As the Beit Lechem community is planning a major fundraising drive to renovate the facilities at the community, Masud sought perspective on the Bruriah students’ efforts.
