Bruriah Hosts Visitors From Greater MetroWest NJ Day School Initiative and CIJE

Bruriah High School had the honor and privilege to host leaders and supporters from the Greater MetroWest Day School Initiative and CIJE to further discuss the school’s impressive STEM department. At last year’s CIJE Innovation Day, Bruriah took first and second place prizes in the category named for Dr. Lynne B. Harrison, the award for Innovation in Scientific Engineering. Dr. Harrison is both a member of the Greater MetroWest Day School Council and founding president of Harrison Research Laboratories, Inc. The delegation also included founder of the Herskowitz Society and Chairwoman Paula Gottesman, Vice President and Director at CIJE Judy Leibovitz and Director of the Greater MetroWest NJ Day School Initiative Rebecca Hindin.

Dr. Harrison reflected on the visit by saying, “In a field of close to 1,400 young engineer teams, the girls of Bruriah High School won first and second prizes—this was the impetus for our visit. We found the girls impressive, smart, capable and articulate. The quality of teaching, given restricted access to resources, left us with an incredible high. It was a heartwarming and elating visit.”

This visit was meaningful to both the first-time visitors to Bruriah and to students, as they had an opportunity to engage and receive inspiration from the guests. Bruriah thanks the entire Greater MetroWest Day School Initiative and CIJE for enhancing the day.
