On December 25, Bruriah students, faculty and alumni gathered for a beautiful morning of Chanukah inspiration and learning alongside their mothers, sisters, grandmothers and aunts. The theme of this year’s legendary program, “Finding Your Inner Light,” asked the hundreds of participants to explore and discuss the concept of pnimiyus, internality, as a means of furthering one’s relationship with Hashem through a thorough and thought-provoking sourcebook prepared by sophomore Sally Cypess and senior Faiga Gordon.

World-renowned speaker and educator, Jackie Bitton, further enriched the learning by offering practical examples and personal stories on how to bring more light into this world through acts of giving and gratitude.

This intergenerational event beautifully coincided with Erev Chanukah, a time of year where we celebrate the enduring strength and resilience of the Torah and the Jewish people. What better way to mark this occasion than through generations of Jewish women coming together to study Torah together at Bruriah.
