Bruriah Middle School is excited to have Mrs. Aviva Wercberger joining our amazing administrative team as our new assistant principal. Mrs. Wercberger is an incredibly talented star educator who models Bruriah’s values and sees the greatness and potential in every student. She brings energy, vision and excellence to our middle school and will help bring out the best in our girls.
An accomplished educator, Mrs. Wercberger joins Bruriah after a decade at Shaare Torah Girls High School in Brooklyn, where she partnered with colleagues, students and parents to promote a warm, supportive and growth-oriented environment. From her own classroom to shabbaton, social-emotional support, student trips and co-curricular activities, Mrs. Wercberger engages students where they are and turns every moment into a shared learning experience.
Affable and approachable, Mrs. Wercberger served as a teacher mentor, drawing on her own experience to help other classroom teachers further develop their craft and better reach their students. She collaborated with school leaders to ensure proper placement and academic support for students, and led the school in the utilization and integration of technology and modern educational tools in the classroom.
Mrs. Wercberger holds a Master of Science in educational leadership from Brooklyn College, where she also earned her Bachelor of Science in computer science. She is a skilled mathematician and has taught Regents-level math and science while also teaching other STEM, computer and SAT prep courses. We are thrilled that she is joining our team.
Mrs. Wercberger joins our administrative dream team that includes our dynamic school principal, Mrs. Esther Eisenman; our exceptional high school assistant principal, Dr. Bethany Strulowitz; our excellent director of educational services, Mrs. Rhonda Weinraub; our amazing guidance coordinator, Mrs. Shira Somerstein; and our talented director of student life, Mrs. Yael Bleicher. Together with our first-class faculty and staff we are bringing fresh energy to Bruriah’s unparalleled legacy where every student can achieve excellence.
