Rabbi Avie Schreiber, Chinuch Director
Rabbi Schreiber is an esteemed teacher at Yavneh Academy, teaching Chumash and Gemara to all levels and grades in the middle school. He has served on the steering committee at Yavneh during its Middle States accreditation process. Before Yavneh, Rabbi Schreiber taught at the Ramaz Upper School for five years. In addition, he is the co-editor of the Ohel Avraham—a bi-annual Torah journal published by Congregation Beth Abraham of Bergenfield, NJ.
Rabbi Schreiber, who lives in Bergenfield, will be joined in camp by his wife, Navi, and their four children—Chanan, Adira, Tzvi and Esti. He is very excited to be directing the chinuch program this summer and is looking forward to a summer filled with learning, growth, creativity and fun.
Shua Katz, Director of Waiter/Learning Program
Yehoshua is currently a smicha student attending Yeshiva University, studying with Rabbi Michael Rosensweig and majoring in philosophy. Prior to college, he learned for two years at Yeshivat Har Etzion after graduating from Torah Academy of Bergen County.
Shua, as he is known to family and friends, also serves as a madrich for post-Israel students at YU and frequently gives shiurim and chaburot to teens as well as adults. In addition, his experience includes mentoring TABC students as part of TABC’s morning kollel, three years as a Mesorah waiter and two summer as a madrich on NCSY kollel.
Keren Nussbaum, Director of Girls Waterfront
Keren joins Mesorah after working at Camp Regesh as head lifeguard and lifeguard for the past 10 years. She has also spent summers in camp as a division head, ropes course director and counselor. During the year, Keren, who lives in New Milford, works as a speech therapist for the local school district.
Keren and her husband Jeremy can’t wait to be a part of the Mesorah family this summer. She’ll be joined in camp by her four children—Daniella, Kayla, Zac and Samantha.
