On Wednesday, May 13, MTA students and faculty traveled to Camp Monroe for the school’s annual post-Lag B’Omer trip and sports day.
For the first part of the day, the boys, along with their rebbeim and teachers, had the option of playing soccer, football, hockey, basketball, volleyball, softball, tennis, ping-pong or mini-golf, or to learn in a special shiur given by Rabbi Bechhofer. For over two hours students practiced their jump shots and honed their mini-golf strokes. The boys loved their action-packed morning, and the weather could not have been better; the temperature hovered around 75 degrees, and the skies were mostly clear.
For lunch, the boys were treated to a lavish barbecue with hot dogs, burgers and the works. After this delicious lunch, an epic rebbeim vs. talmidim softball game was held. The talmidim managed to stave off a last inning comeback by the rebbeim to hang on for the win.
Additional sports activities continued all afternoon, including some Camp Monroe firsts: flag football tournaments and Quidditch.
Over the course of the trip, the participants thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
