This week Camp Yagilu Wilderness campers moved into their forest dwellings where they camped out in tents in the forest. Campers learned how to make fires, even in the rain, and also chopped down a few trees.
This week campers started their summer hikes. Yagilu Nature, the younger division (ages 10-12) hiked in Little Buffalo State Park, while the over bar mitzvah division hiked for two days along the Appalachian Trail. The advanced Yagilu2Extreme division started their 10 day hike!
Campers also went to the livestock auction and brought home many animals, including a goat with a very long beard. They took really good care of the animals and ruled the forest!
